Cisco Validated Designs (CVDs) consist of systems and solutions that are designed, tested, and documented to facilitate and improve customer deployments. These designs incorporate a wide range of technologies and products into a portfolio of solutions that have been developed to address the business needs of our customers.

This document discusses the design principles that go into the FlashStack solution, which is a validated Converged Infrastructure(CI) jointly developed by Cisco and Pure Storage. The solution is a predesigned, best practice a resilient, cost effective, and easy to deploy data center architecture across multiple storage protocols. FlashStack validated with Microsoft Hyper-V 2016 includes Pure Storage All Flash storage, Cisco Nexus® networking, Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS®), Microsoft System Center Operation Manager and Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager in a single package. The design is flexible enough that the networking, computing, and storage can fit in a single data center rack or be deployed according to a customer's data center design.
